Paragons Dev Diary #1

Paragons Development Diary #1

Hello friends and supporters,

Well, after a 38 day Kickstarter campaign, we have crossed the finish line with over £21,000 in funding for Paragons. We are incredibly proud of not just the development team, but also our wonderful backers who saw the potential in this project and wanted to help build it.

So from all of us here at Authocracy Studios, thank you.

Now, the development involved in a game this size is a considerable undertaking - with highlights, hurdles, ups, downs, flips and rolls. We know this from previous experiences, and so we decided to launch these development diaries to keep everyone posted in the months to follow.

Now let’s move on to some of the updates attached to this diary.

In case you weren’t aware, new Paragons cards are revealed every week to our Discord community. There you can find direct lines to us here at Authocracy as well as participate in a number of competitions, streams and (should you be artistically-inclined) show off your own creative works.

But now, let’s see what the immensely talented Brandon Ellis has been up to.

The Goblin Rascal

Dwellers of the deep places in Elysia, the Goblins have one of our favorite designs in Paragons thus far. I’m sure we’re going to have a lot of fun with them later down the line!

The Dwarven Miner

Speaking of dwellers from the deep, the Dwarves of the realm of Elysia are no strangers to the dark depths and hazardous conditions.
See the flavor text for context:

"Not to be confused with dwarven minors. They have good labor laws.”

The Elven Sharpshooter

Quick to action, and slow to age - the Elven Sharpshooter has one of the most dynamic designs we’ve seen so far by Brandon Ellis. Fantastic work, Brandon.

The Giant Spider

Despite the fantasy setting, spiders do still lurk in the corners where you least want them. Although… in Elysia, these are big corners… and these are big spiders.

Beautiful card art was always going to be one of the biggest pillars of Paragons, an Brandon Ellis is not letting us down.

Well done, Brandon. Keep up the amazing work.

As mentioned before, these were revealed to our Discord Community a few days ago, so make sure you join us over on the server to see the development process before anyone else!

And that is all from us for this development diary. Thanks for joining us, and we’ll see you next time!

Speak soon,

The Authocracy Team
