A Message from Kevin Hinkle

Hey there! My name is Kevin Hinkle and I’m a Senior Fellow here at Authocracy Studios! Outside of my time bringing the project Grasslands to life as one of the primary illustrators, I'm a full-time Freelance Artist.

I’ve always had a passion for creativity and continuously seek opportunities to share my work with an audience. This usually takes the form of commissioned / freelance projects from a myriad of clients or traveling across the US East Coast attending events while participating in Artist Alleys. However, I’m also incredibly active online across all social media platforms- and even livestream over on my Twitch channel twice a week!

Speaking of livestreaming, one notable endeavor that I’ve become known for, is my weekly #DoodleStream series! This is a livestream hosted each Friday in which I spend approximately 3 hours sketching out viewer requests. I’ll pick a theme and chat pitches ideas and suggestions that fall within that theme right then and there. All of this, of course, comes with the normal shenanigans you’ve come to expect from livestreaming content creators. We have a good time and I’m typically quite pleased with the artwork that’s produced. More often than not, it’s prompts or character I would have never drawn otherwise.

In May 2022, I crossed an incredible personal milestone of hosting 100 episodes of my DoodleStream series. I ran the numbers and had amassed over 1,700 doodles over 3.5 years. I whipped up a fun little college graphic that I shared online, we hosted a celebratory stream and then I mostly moved on, well- went back to streaming that is. As time passed I couldn’t help but continue to wonder- is there anything more I can do with this?

Enter my new colleagues at Authocracy. Did you know we publish books?! After some wonderfully supportive chats with the folks here I decided to put together my first art book: The Doodle Book, a collection of my livestreaming artwork published by Authocracy! And would you look at that? The DoodleBook just so happens to be LIVE right now on Kickstarter! I would be incredibly grateful if you wouldn’t mind taking a peek at my campaign and maybe even supporting it?

Nevertheless, I love to draw and I love to share my work everywhere I can. I have many more things to share in the weeks / months / years to come. Thank you for reading & for supporting us here at this little studio. It’s awesome being surrounded by so many other incredibly talented & passionate creatives!
